How to get here

Bath is directly serviced via links with Bristol and London.

From London Paddington station, trains depart every half hour during peak times with a travel time to Bath Spa station of 1.5 hours.

There are also regular services between Bristolís central rail station (Temple Meads) and Bath Spa, with a journey time of less than 20 minutes.

The Assembly Rooms are either a 20 min walk from the station through the historic centre of Bath, or a brief 5 min taxi ride. City accommodation is equally accessible.

Bath can be easily reached from all London airports and Bristol airport. Bath is then easily accessible by bus, rail or car.

Bristol airport connects to 120 destinations across Europe. The A4 bus service connects Bristol airport directly with Bath and departs from outside the arrivals terminal every half hour at peak times. Travel time to Bath is approx. 1 hour. Alternatively, The A1 Bristol flyer leaves regularly from outside the arrivals terminal and travels to Bristol bus station via Bristol Temple Meads railway station.


Car hire is available at Bristol airport and Bath is best reached by car via the A38 to Bedminster, followed by the A4174 and finally the A4 to Bath. From London, Bath can be reached by travelling west on the M4 to junction 18, followed by the A46 into Bath city centre. Long stay parking is available at Charlotte Street, Avon Street and Southgate. Park & Ride facilities are available to the North, East and South of the city (but do not operate every Sunday.
